Eric Starkowicz Named Co-Chairman of Project BEST

Project BEST is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Eric Starkowicz as the organization’s new co-chairman, representing management.

Mr. Starkowicz was hired as the new executive director of the Ohio Valley Construction Employer’s Council (OVCEC) in July 2021. Upon the retirement of former director Mr. Jack Ramage in December, Mr. Starkowicz has fully assumed the duties of the office. Last week the management members, representing signatory contractors, of the Project BEST board voted to elect Starkowicz to serve in the co-chair role.

Starkowicz comes to the OVCEC from the Master Builders’ Association of Western PA (MBA), where he served as director of industry relations since 2016. He has twenty-two (22) years of relevant experience, primarily in the construction industry. His wide range of leadership and management experience in construction, non-profit, fundraising, marketing, and business development will be great assets to the OVCEC.

As co-chairman, Starkowicz will work closely with fellow co-chairman, Jody Bonfini of the WV Carpenters Local #436, the Project BEST Board of Directors, executive director, and staff to oversee the organization’s rebranding and will continue to serve the Ohio Valley’s construction labor and management teams. Executive Director of Project BEST, Erikka Storch said, “I look forward to working with Eric. This is an exciting time to be in our collective industry, and I welcome him to the BEST team.” Co-chair Bonfini said “I am excited about all the new leadership at Project BEST and look forward to working with Eric. He will be a valuable asset to the team."
